On Wednesday 6th April Agri Machinery News visited Malpas Tractors, who held an evening event celebrating the opening of their new Lancashire branch at Lathom, near Ormskirk.
The dealer, which already has established branches in Wrexham, Denbigh and Holmes Chapel, have taken on the New Holland franchise left vacant by the closure of J&S Lewis last year.
Branch Manager Alison Shacklady was delighted with the turnout on the evening, and is excited by the challenge of servicing farmers in the patch.
She explained “Its a real mixed farming area. We have a bit of everything, ranging from glass house production, plenty of potatoes and other vegetables, arable, and moving further North and West, plenty of dairy too”
“It will take time to get the message across to farmers that we are here, but we are extremely committed, and those that turned out on the night were very enthusiastic about having New Holland and our other franchises in this location”
