A sales training event held at Great Plains’ Sleaford facility has been voted a great success by the company’s UK dealers with a total of 73 delegates attending over three days.
Originally planned as a two day programme – one day to focus on training for new dealer sales staff attending a Great Plains presentation for the first time and a second day to provide advanced product training for more experienced sales personnel – interest proved to be so great that a third day was added to accommodate demand for the advanced training.
Each day comprised a morning session of classroom-based training and product walk-round held in the Sleaford conference suite and showroom, followed by an afternoon session of on-field product demonstrations and training, which for all those attending included a first look at the brand new Centurion 4-metre and 3-metre drills.
The morning sessions were presented by Daniel Rauchholz, President of Great Plains International and David Holmes, UK Sales Director, ably supported by the company’s UK Territory Managers, James Kissock, Stephen Cook, Craig Thomson and Jason Weston. Product support updates were provided by Kevin Waddingham and Peter Hindmarsh representing the company’s UK Parts and Service operations.
Sales staff new to Great Plains were given an introduction to the Great Plains brand and the key features and benefits offered by the Great Plains range of tillage, seeding and planting equipment. Those already familiar with Great Plains equipment learned more about the Great Plains approach to system selling, reducing establishment costs and improving soil structure and how Great Plains products dovetail with these agronomic principles and user needs to add real value from the customer’s perspective.
Feedback from those attending the event has already been very positive with one dealer sales director commenting: “I rarely feel compelled to drop a line after manufacturer training as I am usually unimpressed and underwhelmed. Your day was fast moving, informative and real. The products look great and we are really keen to get underway with the new drill.”
David Holmes, Great Plains UK Sales Director, was delighted that the training days had proved to be so well-received. “The comments we have had from our dealer partners have been extremely gratifying. The whole team at Sleaford put in a lot of hard work to make the event a success and their efforts have been rewarded.
“Our dealers have got a lot of value from the training and have returned to their businesses with a broadened knowledge of Great Plains products and our philosophy together with a real enthusiasm and determination to promote the Great Plains difference to their customers.”
