Agri Machinery News had the pleasure of seeing a fresh name to the UK at the recent Ripon Farm Services New Year Show. East Yorkshire based Harsh UK, told us that their ITRunner system can help cut a farmers trailer expenses by over two thirds. Naturally, we listened to what they had to say!
Max Faulkner of Harsh UK said ” Put simply, by eliminating the need to buy a complete trailer every time you require one, you save money by only purchasing the containers/bins. The cost of these container/bins are roughly a third of the price of a standard trailer, as you aren’t purchasing the expensive running gear, tyres and breaks etc”
“By using a series of containers which can be dropped absolutely anywhere; one tractor, one trailer and one driver can do the work of many more on its own. This means that whilst the ITRunner transports full containers, you can leave empty containers on site or in the field to be filled”.
The ITRunner, which is manufactured in Italy to UK specifications, has been around for a number of years over on the continent, and over 1,000 units have been sold to mainland Europe. In what will be viewed by farmers as revolutionary, Harsh UK were keen to point out that a number of sectors such as the waste industry already use this concept, and hope that farmers will see the benefits of having one single ITRunner unit, which has the ability to carry out a number of different jobs by using a separate body for each task.
As Max Faulkner put it to me, “the more jobs a farmer has to do on his farm the more money he saves by operating different containers for different tasks, as opposed to buying individual trailers. For example, From a muck spreader to a water bowser; timber forwarder to a low loader; grain body to a dump body; attach what ever body you require for any activity, as and when you need it”.
And if that wasn’t enough, we understand that the popular video game, Farming Simulator has adopted the product and included it as a focal point due to its efficiency aspects. Players of the game can expect additional ITRunner units to be included in March when the latest updates are released. More containers are to be added to the game as well, meaning players can carry out even more tasks with the ITRunner.
