Agricultural engineering firm TRP will celebrate 40 years in business with an Open Day and Ride ‘n’ Drive event at its Sleaford depot in Lincolnshire.
The event, on Wednesday, June 1st from 11am to 6pm, will feature displays of equipment from the numerous manufacturers the company represents at Sleaford and its south Yorkshire depot at Everton near Doncaster.
There is also the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest McCormick tractors and Merlo telescopic handlers.
“It’s essential for people to get in the driving seat to appreciate the features of these machines,” says Sean Stanfield, sales manager. “If they like what they find – and I think they will – we can than arrange a proper test drive if required.”
In addition to having a couple of telehandlers in action, TRP plans a line up of three McCormick tractors – an X6 series from the 113-140hp range operating an Ino offset flail verge mower; an X7.660 Pro Drive with Carré four-row strip-till cultivator; and the new McCormick X7 VT Drive tractor with stepless transmission.
“The new VT Drive is very smooth and easy to operate; much less complex than some CVT tractors,” says Sean. “Yet it has all the features operators would expect on a tractor of this type.”
Other tractors from the McCormick range – which spans 35hp to 212hp – will be on static display and a barbecue and other light refreshments will be available throughout the day. TRP are also hopeful of attracting new sales talent – the company is recruiting a new salesman to join Sean Stanfield and Ian Wood in the team.
