The Massey Ferguson MF 5713 SL has achieved the coveted Tractor of the Year 2016 Award in the important Best of Utility Sector. The prestigious inaugural award, judged by a jury of journalists from 23 European countries, was presented at a special ceremony at the Agritechnica Show, Hannover, Germany on Sunday 8th November.
“Massey Ferguson is delighted that the MF 5713 SL has been honoured with this very important award which has been presented for the very first time at the Agritechnica Show” says Campbell Scott, Director, Marketing Services. “We are particularly proud to receive this top accolade because the tractor was first nominated and then judged as the winner by a jury made up of 23 experts from leading magazines across Europe.
“This Award provides independent verification of the success that comes from our investment in new technology and products,” he adds.
The Tractor of the Year Award 2016 acknowledges Massey Ferguson’s investment in the very important 75 – 130 hp sector.
The MF 5713 SL employs the latest refinement to the pioneering Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR) that was introduced on the MF 8690, which won the Tractor of the Year in 2009.
To further improve exhaust gas cleaning and to meet the Stage IV/Tier 4 final emission regulations, the tractor’s AGCO Power 4.4 litre, four cylinder engine, employs unique, ‘All in One’ SCR technology. This uses a special ‘swirl system’ to thoroughly mix the exhaust gases and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) such as AdBlue.
The Jury of 23 journalists drew special attention to the “All in One” unit which incorporates the SCR system and Diesel Oxidation Catalyser (DOC) within a single compact assembly that tucks away neatly under the right-hand side of the cab. The Award winning benefits include efficient emissions control, fuel economy and the ability to achieve one of the steepest and slimmest sloping bonnets in this sector. It is part of the reason why Massey Ferguson is able to achieve such a low sweeping bonnet which offers superb visibility and manoeuvrability especially for loader applications.
This elegant and innovative approach doesn’t sacrifice power, efficiency, maintenance, ground clearance or, importantly, visibility.
The MF 5713 SL can be specified with the choice of either the outstanding Dyna-4 or Dyna-6, efficient and easy to use transmissions. Both come with the useful brake to neutral function and the option of AutoDrive, which provides automatic changing of the four or six steps in fieldwork, as well as the ranges when in transport.
The spacious and modern MF 5713 SL cab is the same as that fitted to the MF 7726, providing best in class comfort with sophisticated and straightforward control. It has a new clear dashboard colour display that is the same as that used on the top of the range MF 8700 Series.
The options of Speedsteer and Autoguide further improve productivity and efficiency in the field .
Unrivalled hydraulic control
The MF 5713 SL comes with an unrivalled choice of three hydraulic systems that allow users to select exactly the right system to suit their specific applications.
An efficient twin-pump system is standard. This delivers 58 litres/min for the spool valves and linkage, with a separate pump for all internal services. For those requiring extra flow – to boost loader performance – there is also the 100 litre/min combined flow system.
A 110 litre/min closed-centre, load sensing (CCLS) system is another option, delivering flow and pressure on demand for optimum output, control and economy. This also comes with finger-tip spool valve controls or electronic joystick.
