For the 2014 harvest, Grimme UK have launched the new, two row trailed GTM Windrower. Taking many innovative features and the chassis from the acclaimed GT Harvester range, this new 1700mm wide dedicated windrower offers customers a cost effective and gentle windrow solution without compromising on build quality.
Featuring a pulled front share unit with or without centre blade and a fully floating intake chassis,the GTM allows crop to smoothly flow into the machine, while the standard Ridge Pressure Control system takes care of depth sensing automatically.
The large main web with rotary agitation gently sieves and transfers the lifted crop onto a conventional haulm roller working against the main web. A short second web then transfers the crop over the second haulm roller, working against a spiral segment shaft and onto the single MultiSep separator.
Four pairs of spiral segment and plain rollers inside the Multisep unit efficiently clean the crop before it is carried onto the new, centrally driven cross conveyor. The innovative design of this conveyor allows for a lighter construction without the need for heavy end section drives. Discharging to either the left or right hand side of the machine, the crop is placed between the next two rows of potatoes. Hydraulic lowering of both left and right sections and a final rubber chute reduce the discharge height and direct the crop gently into the row bottoms.
Speed of the cross conveyor is controlled from the tractor cab via the standard SKE control box. This intuitive and simple control system also allows for in cab operation of the hydraulic self-centre steering, hydraulic lanes adjuster, main web agitation and machine levelling on both left and right hand sides.
Other optional features that can be specified to enhance the machine further include our award winning terra depth control, VC50 touch screen controls with joystick and segmented first haulm
roller. The machine can also be specified with the choice of RS separator as an alternative to the standard single MultiSep unit if required.
