The Small Bale Company, the importer of the Kuhns’ Mfg Hay Accumulator and Grabbers has concluded a deal with Phiber Manufacturing Inc of Winnipeg Canada to import their big bale products into the UK.
Phiber manufacture two types of big bale accumulator, the Accumulator, and the Stacker.
The Phiber Accumulator is a table based accumulator towed behind the baler. The Accumulator can cope with 3×3, 3×4, and 4×4 bales. The standard accumulator is configured for hay and straw. Options for the Accumulator include weighing scales, longer push off arms to cope with shorter bales, and additional rollers to remove the friction caused by sticky silage bales.
The Phiber Stacking Accumulator is designed for balers that produce 4′ (120cm) wide bales. Operators can program the Stacking Accumulator to assemble bales two or three high. The stacks are created from the lead end of the bale making uniform packages.
The Phiber Stacking Accumulator is designed primarily for dry hay applications. The Stacking Accumulator is designed to unload in varying speeds from 3 – 13mph. This range can vary depending on a number of conditions. A pause-to-dump feature has been added giving the operator the option to pause unloading while making a turn.
All Phiber Accumulators are powered using the tractor hydraulics. Unique to PhiBer is the ability to set them up in all three different hydraulic systems, closed center, open center and closed center load sensing.
Complementing the accumulators is a set of bale grabbers and spikes:
The Bale Spear
Designed to complement the PhiBer Stacking Accumulator. Features a heavy frame designed for telehandlers and wheel loaders. Only uses three bale spikes allowing them to go in and out of a bale with ease. Also features cast bale hooks that hold bales tight to the frame giving great stability. Adjustable heavy duty plates make attaching different loader mounts easy.
Designed to complement the PhiBer Horizontal Accumulators which drop bales in packages of three allowing operators to pick up packages same as they are dropped. Use the loader’s 90 degrees of roll back to stack bales strings down or to strings to the side. All the cast bale hooks open and close at the same time making this grab great for picking up bales behind a PhiBer Accumulator or loading and unloading trailers.
The 308 is a premium model. Designed to pick up individual bales or packages of bales dropped by PhiBer Horizontal Accumulators. Open or close each gang of hooks with a touch of a button making sorting individual bales easy. Use the loader’s 90 degrees of roll back to stack bales strings down or to strings to the side. This grab is great for picking up bales behind a PhiBer Accumulator, loading and unloading trailers, sorting bales and picking up individual bales.
The Strawboss II is designed to achieve smooth spreading of straw and is suitable for over wintering of root crops such as carrots, as well as soft fruits such as strawberries. It has a large carrying capacity and can hold up to six 3’x3’ bales or four 3’x4’ bales. The Strawboss is designed the pull the bales apart evenly putting them through a processor. As it comes out of the processor the straw enters beaters that can be adjusted to spread straw from 12’ to 24’.
The Strawboss II has low horse power requirements and only use one hydraulic remote from the tractor to control the push gate. The tractor PTO provides power for the processor and on board hydraulic pump controlling the raker chain and rear spreaders.
