East Yorkshire farm machinery importer, Manterra has extended his range of Trimble auto steer solutions with the launch of Agrometius GeoPlough system.
Developed by Agrometius, the Dutch distributor of Trimble AgGPS™ products, the GeoPlough system is designed to work with any make of hydraulic variable width plough and any number of furrows, to create straight furrows, even at night and in fog where it is impossible to set up a sight line due to poor visibility.
Of the launch, Andrew Manfield said: “We are delighted to build on the great reception for Trimble we have had in the past year by bringing the GeoPlough to the UK market. GeoPlough is an optional extra for Trimble Autopilot equipped tractors. It works brilliantly, adjusting the plough width hydraulically according to computer calculation of the offline distance. Arrow straight furrows can be a reality for all ploughmen regardless of experience or conditions.
“Not only does it give impressive results, but it’s very easy to use. After initial calibration, simply set the desired plough width and the number of furrows in the controller and you’re ready to start work. GeoPlough adds even more value to the market leading Trimble Autopilot product line.”
Manterra is the key technology supplier to the Stockbridge Technology Centre’s Tru-Nject project that has secured Innovate UK funding for a three year trial to commercialise innovative soil nutrient mapping technology that has the potential to revolutionise farming practices.
