6m trailed precision seeder added to range
- Amazone has introduced an additional model in its trailed precision air seeder product line
- The new Precea 6000-TCC, in a working width of 6 m, complements the high-performance capabilities of the 9 and 12 m models shown at last year’s Agritechnica
A key feature of the Precea 6000-TCC is the option of either the Central Seed Supply seed delivery system or with individual seed hoppers on each sowing unit. In addition, AmazoneE offers both variants with a large single-chamber fertiliser hopper with a capacity of 3,000 l together with a central, easily accessible fertiliser metering system.
The 8 rows can be set to row widths of 70 cm, 75 cm and 80 cm. Row widths of 45 cm and 50 cm based on 12 rows will also be available in the medium term, in order to round off the product range for use in narrower row crops such as sugar beet, rape or soya beans. Effective use, with high outputs in the season, is now possible with tractors in the medium horsepower range from 110 kW (150 hp).
The central seed hopper option provides a capacity of 850 l for increased area coverage. The large and easily accessible hopper opening allows very easy and quick filling from big bags. This reduces the turn-round times. The seed conveying is self-regulating in this system. An air stream transports the seed from the central hopper via the delivery unit to the reception units above each sowing unit. These act as a temporary store. The air stream, and therefore the seed delivery, is automatically paused when the maximum fill level is reached in this reception hopper. The air flow, and along with it the transport of the seed, restarts as soon as the fill level in the reception unit drops.
A 70 l seed hopper is mounted on each sowing unit in the individual hopper variant. This system offers the advantage of for a quick seed change on farms with a variety of crops or for contractors with varying customer requirements. Filling from small seed containers and emptying out during frequent seed changes can be completed in a very short time and work can quickly continue on the next job without any problems. In addition, micro-granular applicators with a capacity of 17 l can be fitted, thereby increasing flexibility, even on smaller fields.
Amazone puts its faith in the PreTeC mulch sowing coulter with over-pressure singling for the seed distribution. In this respect, the seed is pressed onto the singling disc under air pressure and is accurately singled by the three stripper fingers working against the holes in the disc. The stripper fingers are automatically adjusted via SmartControl to relieve the stress on the driver.
The electrically-driven singling disc rotates in relation to the forward speed and transports the seed to the propulsion channel. The contact pressure is then interrupted and the seeds are fired past the optical seed monitor into the propulsion channel, placed precisely in the seed furrow and embedded in the soil by the catcher roller. Uniform plant distribution and high field emergence are obtained, even at high working speeds of up to 15 km/h. Two large carrying rollers and a high coulter pressure guarantee the exact placement depth. The SmartForce automatic coulter pressure regulation provides the right pressure setting for the singling units, even in changing soil conditions. This means that the placement depth is consistently maintained on both heavy and light ground.
Due to the well-thought through design of the centralised singling unit, the singling disc and the singling pressure chamber turn as one. The power requirement is kept low as a result of this rotating seal, which is why the electric singling system is operated exclusively via the tractor electronics across every row.
The transport axle can be telescoped in and out to ensure the crop is kept damage-free by not driving over seed rows. The axle width is thereby adapted to the row spacings and the tyres run between the seed rows. As an alternative, the hydraulic tramline offset can be used to displace the seed rows. Or a combination of the two. This prevents reconsolidation of the soil in the seed row and the full seed rate can be applied to ensure the maximum yield potential.
The compact design and comfortable folding to a transport width of 3 m ensure safe driving on the road and quick change from field to field.
Precise switch-on and switch-off of the sowing units is very important in order to prevent over- or under-sowing in critical areas such as on the headland. Individual row shut-off for the seed provides exact placement. Each row is controlled individually and automatically. On the one hand, this saves seed, as fewer overlaps occur, and on the other hand, gaps are prevented.
In addition, Amazone offers individual row shut-off for fertiliser directly on the distributor head. This provides advantages, particularly on odd-shaped headlands and in field corners. Double fertiliser application is prevented, with the result that the plants can grow and ripen uniformly. The extremely precise fertiliser application effectively reduces application rates, thereby cutting costs and protecting the environment.
Clear machine control and quick intervention are very important in conjunction with high forward speeds. Furthermore, it is essential that the machines can be quickly and reliably calibrated with frequent changes of seed or fertiliser. The specific machine software developed by Amazone has maximum functionality combined with user-friendly operation.
