Novel Folding Mower goes Wide
Kuhn launched their widest ever mower recently in France. At 14.5m wide, the GMD 15030 is the largest mounted mower on the market.
With a weight of just 3.8 tonnes, and a similar folded size to that of a conventional triple mower. When combined with a front mower, it is inside road restrictions at 3m wide and less than 4m high for transport. The GMD 15030 is a compact and manoeuvrable, yet high output package.
On each side, the mower has a novel integrated gearbox and pivot to transfer the power between the beds on each side, with 4 aligned cutter bars, two on each side, the blades are synchronised between beds to ensure cutting and clearance.
The company reckons, conditions dependent, that it takes just 230 hp to drive the unit.
