Harvesting Innovations Secure Two AE50 Awards

Claas has been awarded two AE50 Awards by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ASABE), recognising the performance and engineering of the Jaguar 1000 forage harvester series and the Orbis 10500 corn header.

The AE50 Awards acknowledge new products that deliver practical benefits to farmers and contractors, with the Claas machines recognised for their contribution to output, efficiency and ease of operation. The awards will be presented in February 2026 at the ASABE Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Jaguar 1000 series represents the latest development in Claas self-propelled forage harvesting, building on more than 50 years of experience. Available in four models with outputs up to 1,110hp, the range is designed to deliver maximum throughput while maintaining consistent chop quality. Key features include a wide crop flow, hydraulic pre-compression, a large-diameter corncracker and a robust chassis with high-traction, soil-protecting running gear.

The machines are also equipped with the latest Claas operator assistance and digital systems, aimed at simplifying set-up and reducing operator fatigue during long harvesting days.

The Orbis 10500 corn header expands Claas’s high-capacity forage offering with a 10.5m working width and row-independent design. Independent drives for the cutting and feed components automatically adjust to forward speed and chop length, helping maintain consistent performance across varying conditions. Active ground contour control ensures accurate cutting height, while the integrated transport system allows the header to be moved on the road within legal width limits without lengthy changeover times.

The dual AE50 Awards reinforce Claas’s position as a developer of high-capacity harvesting machinery for professional forage producers and contractors.
