Tractor Range Wins Design Award

The Steyr Cervus CVT, a new flagship tractor range delivering 360–435hp, has won a Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design category, adding to a growing list of international honours for the brand’s latest styling direction.

The award, one of the world’s largest design competitions, is judged on criteria including aesthetics, functionality, sustainability and innovation. Winners will be honoured at a ceremony on 7 July 2026 at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany.

The Cervus CVT was first shown publicly at Agritechnica 2025 as the company’s move into the 400hp-plus segment. The tractors are designed to pair high power with compact dimensions, aimed at boosting versatility across heavy draft work, combination operations using front and rear implements, and high-speed transport.

Built in St. Valentin, the range is centred on an 8.7-litre FPT Cursor 9 engine and a new 4×2-range continuously variable transmission with a 60kph top speed. Options include central tyre inflation to support soil protection and fuel efficiency, the company said.

Operator comfort features include a low-noise cab, semi-active cab suspension and an independently suspended front axle. Externally, the tractors follow STEYR’s recent styling cues while adding service-friendly access and an updated lighting concept, with the brand logo integrated into the rear lights and daytime running lights completing the look.

Steyr also highlighted precision farming features offered through three configurable “Tech Packs”, including ISOBUS and TIM implement control, GPS-based headland automation and steering management. Connectivity Included provides subscription-free access to FieldOps for real-time monitoring, the company added.

Franz Josef Silber, Steyr’s global product marketing lead, said the Red Dot win “is a further strong endorsement” of the manufacturer’s approach to combining “customer-focused features with striking styling”, adding that the company is looking forward to delivering the new tractors to dealers and customers soon.
