Engine Manufacturer Powers Three Tractor of the Year 2026 Winners
FPT celebrated a strong showing at Agritechnica after being confirmed as the engine supplier behind three Tractor of the Year (TotY) 2026 category winners.
The following machines took titles in their respective segments:
• HighPower Tractor of the Year 2026: Claas Axion 9.450 Terra Trac, powered by FPT Cursor 9
• Specialised Tractor of the Year 2026: New Holland T4.120 F Auto Command, powered by FPT F36
• Sustainable Tractor of the Year 2026: JCB Fastrac 6300, powered by FPT N67
This year, 24 finalists equipped with internal combustion engines competed across five categories. Ten of those machines used FPT powertrains, reaffirming the company’s position as a preferred supplier for leading tractor manufacturers.
Established in 1998 by the Italian magazine Trattori, Tractor of the Year is an international award judged by 25 agricultural journalists from across 25 European countries. The jury evaluated the machines through field testing and technical analysis before selecting the winners.
The strong performance further reinforced FPT’s standing as the world’s largest independent agricultural powertrain producer. The company supplies engines for more than 110,000 agricultural machines annually. In Europe, one in three tractors and two in five combines are powered by FPT engines.
HighPower category – Claas Axion 9.450 Terra Trac
The Claas Axion 9.450 Terra Trac secured the HighPower title, with judges highlighting its power density, hydraulic performance and data-driven management. The FPT Cursor 9 engine delivered high output in a compact footprint, supporting heavy-duty work with reduced running costs.
Specialised category – New Holland T4.120 F Auto Command
The New Holland T4.120 F Auto Command, powered by the FPT F36, won the Specialised category. Its compact layout, Auto Command CVT and PLM Intelligence connectivity were noted as setting new standards for vineyard and orchard operations.
Sustainable category – JCB Fastrac 6300
The Sustainable Tractor of the Year award went to the JCB Fastrac 6300. Powered by the FPT N67, it was recognised for combining strong performance with improved efficiency and lower environmental impact. The N67 forms part of the long-established FPT Nef family, with more than two million engines produced since 2001.
