Hire Scheme Gives Low-Cost Access to Precision Applicators
Precision applicator specialist Techneat Engineering has launched a new hire scheme to give UK farmers and growers a flexible, low-cost way to access its range of application equipment.
The programme, branded Techneat Hire, was showcased at upcoming events including LAMMA, and BTME 2026, offering users the opportunity to “try before you buy” or to bring in specialist kit without the capital outlay of a purchase.
Under the scheme, a selection of the company’s precision machinery – typically used for tasks such as fertiliser and seed application – will be available for short- or long-term hire direct from Techneat. This approach aims to help growers manage costs and equipment needs more efficiently, particularly during peak demand periods or specific application windows.
Industry commentary on equipment hire highlights the benefits of this model for agriculture: it can reduce upfront expenditure, improve flexibility, and allow operators to access specialised technology without long-term ownership costs – a key consideration given the high prices and rapid evolution of modern machinery.
Techneat Hire also gives growers a practical way to assess performance and suitability of equipment on their own land before committing to a full purchase – an advantage increasingly valued where machinery investment risks are high.
The hire range is expected to include a cross-section of Techneat’s applicators and related implements, although specific models and pricing details have not yet been announced.
The move reflects a broader trend in agricultural machinery markets, where hire and flexible access models are gaining traction as growers look to balance technology adoption with tighter capital budgets and variable seasonal workloads.
