New Inox winter salt spreaders unveiled
Technology meets stainless steel
A new generation of professional winter road gritting equipment has been launched by Amazone with the introduction of the IceTiger Inox and the smaller IceTiger S Inox winter salt spreaders. Designed for intensive, year-round use, the machines combine stainless steel construction with belt-floor delivery and full ISOBUS compatibility for accurate and reliable spreading.
Stainless steel hopper for long service life
A key feature of the new spreaders is a base hopper manufactured entirely from high-quality stainless steel. This offers high resistance to corrosion and is intended to deliver a long working life under demanding conditions, including exposure to moisture, aggressive gritting materials and freezing temperatures. The hopper design is backed by a seven-year manufacturer guarantee against rust perforation.
Controlled material flow and precise spreading
Material delivery is handled by a hydraulically driven belt floor, which ensures a consistent feed to the spreading disc. This system is particularly suited to sensitive materials such as pre-wetted salt or grit, reducing wear and minimising the risk of blockages, even at low application rates.
Working widths can be set between 1.5 and 8 metres, allowing operators to tailor spreading to individual sites. Electric delivery point adjustment, combined with automatic regulation of disc speed via ISOBUS, enables symmetrical or asymmetrical spread patterns. Operators can also adjust the spread fan to treat a single lane or both lanes simultaneously, with the option of applying a double rate on critical areas such as junctions and bridges.
High capacity option for wider coverage
The standard Amazone IceTiger Inox offers a hopper capacity of 1,000 litres, which can be increased to 1,900 litres using extensions. This makes it suitable for urban networks and longer routes where higher work rates and extended range are required. An optional pre-wetted salt system is also available, allowing more efficient use of salt and improved performance during precautionary gritting.
Compact solution for confined areas
For smaller carrier vehicles and restricted spaces, the IceTiger S Inox provides a compact alternative. With a base capacity of 380 litres, extendable to 920 litres, it retains the same technical features as the larger model, making it suitable for footpaths, cycleways and narrow roads.
Designed for professional use
Both machines are aimed at professional operators working in municipal services, highway maintenance and private contracting. Features include hydraulic drive for all functions, continuously adjustable spreading width, reliable operation in all weather conditions, and easy cleaning and maintenance. The stainless steel construction also allows the spreaders to be used for applying loose chippings during summer months, supporting year-round utilisation.
