Forager Wins Farm Machine Award

Claas is celebrating success at Agritechnica 2025 after the new Jaguar 1200 forage harvester secured the Farm Machine Award 2026 in the forage harvester category.

The international jury of 21 agricultural machinery journalists recognised the Jaguar 1200 as an outstanding development in high-capacity forage harvesting. The model, which has already received a silver Agritechnica Innovation Award, marks a significant advance in performance, efficiency and operator support.

Thomas Spiering, chief operating officer at Claas, says: “Our forage harvesters have been setting benchmarks for decades in terms of productivity, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and driver assistance. But we owe our leading position above all to farmers and contractors around the world. By listening carefully, we develop and build our machines so they meet real-world requirements. Therefore, the Farm Machine Award for the Jaguar 1200 is not only an honour for our development teams, but also an award for our customers.”

Powered by a 1,110hp engine, the Jaguar 1200 delivers throughput capacities of up to 500t/hour, supported by what Claas states is the widest crop flow system on the market and fully hydraulic pre-compression for uniform chopping quality. The machine can be paired with the latest high-throughput Pick Up and Orbis front attachments covering up to 16 rows or 12 metres.

Additional features include a 310mm Corncracker, dual independent variable header drives, new digital tools in Claas Connect, the NutriMeter crop analysis system and a high-traction, soil-friendly chassis. The quiet cab offers high operator comfort through a swivel seat and optional joystick steering.

The Jaguar 1200 also holds the current Guinness World Record for forage harvesting after achieving4,096 tonnes in 12 hours.
