New UK sprayer business broadens options

A new UK import business has been formed between sprayer manufacturers AGROMA and Knight Farm Machinery to extend the sprayer options available to customers in the UK and Ireland. AGROMA UK Ltd has been founded by Brian Knight, MD of Knight Farm Machinery, and the directors of AGROMA GR, Konstantin Mavrov and Nikos Petkos, to give existing AGROMA and Knight dealers access to a wider range of sprayers to match different customer requirements.

AGROMA UK will import and distribute AGROMA mounted, trailed and specialist sprayers via an expanded sales team through established and new UK and Ireland dealers. Based in Veria, 40 miles west of Thessaloniki in northern Greece, AGROMA manufactured its first sprayer in 1977. Today, its facilities cover 7,000 sq m, with a factory accredited to EN ISO 9001:2015 quality standards.

“AGROMA and Knight Farm Machinery have collaborated on projects for many years, so we know each other’s manufacturing and design principles very well,” says Brian Knight.

“We share the same commitment to engineering excellence, advanced technology and machine quality, so this partnership is a natural step.”

Mounted sprayers

AGROMA manufactures two mounted ranges. Millenium SM sprayers feature 800-1,500 litre tanks and 12-15m booms, while Millenium M models have 1,000-1,500 litre capacities and 15-18m booms. Both ranges have electro-hydraulic boom control and 180 l/min four-piston diaphragm pumps, while options include ISOBUS control.

Three trailed ranges

Three trailed ranges are available. The Millenium ST is a 3,000-litre sprayer with tracking drawbar option and 15-18m booms incorporating 5–7 sections. Auto rate control via the Arag Bravo 180S controller is standard, while ISOBUS is optional.

The Millenium ET is a higher-specification 3,000-litre machine, with 20–28m boom options incorporating 7-13 sections. ISOBUS is standard, operated via the Explorer joystick, and the pump is a 260 l/min six-piston diaphragm unit. The stainless steel 3/4in spray line features four-way Quadri-Jet anti-drip diaphragm nozzle bodies, plus an auto recirculation prime-and-purge system.

Top-specification Millenium T trailed sprayers (3,000/4,000 litres/20-30m booms) are also ISOBUS-controlled via the Explorer joystick. Like all AGROMA sprayers, they feature a unique adjustable anti-yaw system. In addition, they are equipped with pneumatic suspension with leaf springs and shock absorbers on a BPW axle, with optional steering. The pump is a 300 l/min six-piston diaphragm unit, while the stainless steel 3/4in spray line has four-way Quadri-Jet anti-drip diaphragm nozzle bodies, plus an auto recirculation prime-and-purge system.

All models feature blue LED boom lighting, LED working lights, integrated LED road lighting and flashing beacon, to maximise visibility, safety and operator confidence in all working conditions.

Specialist sprayers

AGROMA also offers a comprehensive range of sprayers for the orchard, fruit and vineyard sectors. The line of Cyclone models includes 200-1,000 litre mounted and 1,000-2,000 litre trailed versions with comprehensive specification. Mist sprayers tailored to poultry building sanitisation are also available.

Heavy-duty mulchers

AGROMA UK Ltd also offers a range of heavy-duty mulchers. Designed and built in-house for the arduous conditions seen in the orchard, vineyard and olive groves of Greece, the mulchers feature heavy duty bearings, reinforced hoods and rotors, plus hydraulic side-shift.

Sales and aftersales support

“AGROMA UK Ltd is headquartered at our facility in South Luffenham, near Oakham in Rutland,” explains Paul Harrison, responsible for sales, marketing and distribution at Knight Farm Machinery and the new AGROMA UK operation.

“Here we will hold a selection of new machines for immediate delivery to customers, stock spare parts, operate our technical support department, and host product and technical training on-site.

Distribution

“The new product portfolio provides tremendous opportunities for UK and Irish farmers and dealers. As well as distributing through existing AGROMA and Knight dealerships, we welcome enquiries from new distribution partners interested in building the marketplace with us. Dealers are the people closest to the customer, understanding their applications and requirements, and dealerships have always been our preferred route to market. A combined offering of AGROMA and Knight products gives customers options from the simplest sprayer to the largest and most technically advanced machines across all platforms.”
