New durable trailer tyre

  • New agricultural trailer tyre designed for intensive road and field use
  • Michelin claims up to 80% longer life than its previous-generation trailer tyres
  • Supports loads of up to 6,500kg at speeds of up to 65km/h

Michelin has expanded its agricultural trailer tyre range with the launch of the new MICHELIN WORKXBIB, developed for intensive use on the road and in the field.

Designed for tipping trailers, slurry tankers, manure spreaders and other agricultural equipment, the tyre is aimed at contractors and farmers who need high load capacity, stability and durability.

Tom Saunders, Agricultural Beyond Road Customer Engineering Support Manager at Michelin, said: “In a sector marked by increasingly intensive road use and demanding field performance, we’ve developed the MICHELIN WORKXBIB for contractors and farmers.”

He added: “Our latest fitment has a wide range of applications, from public works and civil engineering through to haulage and livestock farming.”

MICHELIN WORKXBIB can support loads of up to 6,500kg at speeds of up to 65km/h (40mph)*. It complements the MICHELIN TRAILXBIB, which uses Michelin’s patented Ultraflex technology to help reduce soil compaction.

Michelin says the new tyre combines endurance, high load capacity and reliability for intensive road use, with a size range tailored to current trailer platforms.

Design focuses on durability and stability

The WORKXBIB has a larger footprint, flat crown and reinforced, serrated shoulders. Michelin says these features improve endurance and road stability, including under heavy loads and at higher speeds.

A steel-belted crown, robust carcass and bead area, and high-performance rubber compound are intended to increase puncture resistance. The serrated shoulders are designed to improve stability on sloping ground, while large tread blocks aid self-cleaning and reduce maintenance requirements.

Michelin claims the design can deliver up to 80% longer life** than its previous-generation trailer tyres.

For contractors and farm businesses, the manufacturer says this could mean fewer stops for tyre replacement and maintenance, improved machine availability and better control of operating costs.

The replacement-market rollout begins with the 600/55 R26.5 size, available from October 2026. Three further sizes are due in the second quarter of 2027: 650/55 R26.5, 600/60 R30.5 and 560/60 R22.5.
