European slurry technology partnership creates wider applicator range
A new strategic joint venture is set to expand the range of slurry application equipment available to European farmers and contractors, combining manufacturing expertise from Slovenia with an established sales and after-sales network.
The partnership brings together German agricultural machinery manufacturer Vogelsang and Slovenian manufacturer BeTEC, with the latter taking responsibility for needs-based production, design and technical development of the applicators.
Sales activities in Germany and across Europe, excluding Slovenia, will remain with Vogelsang through its existing organisational structure.
The companies say the agreement combines Vogelsang’s sales and after-sales capabilities with BeTEC’s production and engineering expertise, allowing the partners to respond more efficiently to demand across the agricultural market.
“These synergies will enable us to grow together,” says Jure Brečko, head of sales at BeTEC.
Wider product portfolio
As part of the agreement, the companies’ existing ranges of dribble bar and trailing shoe applicators are being brought together under the new Vogelsang-BeTEC brand.
The combined portfolio is intended to cover a wider range of working widths, specifications and price points, targeting customers from large-scale farming and contracting businesses through to smaller and part-time farms.
Henning Ahlers, head of sales for agricultural technology and biogas in Germany, says the partnership will allow the business to offer customers a broader choice of slurry application technology while making use of its existing subsidiary and dealer network across Europe.
For Vogelsang, the agreement also represents a further development of its established dribble bar business. The company describes itself as the inventor of dribble bar technology and says the partnership will enable the product range to be developed further.
European focus
The initial focus of the joint venture will be the pan-European market, with the combined manufacturing, engineering and distribution capabilities intended to support sales through both subsidiaries and independent dealers.
The new product portfolio will receive its first major public showcase at EuroTier in Hanover, Germany, from 10-13 November.
Equipment on display will include solutions from the combined dribble bar and trailing shoe ranges, giving visitors an opportunity to see the expanded portfolio ahead of its wider European rollout.
