Forestry tractor range to feature at international trade fair

Five tractors covering a range of forestry applications will be exhibited by Steyr at Interforst 2026, taking place in Munich, Germany, from 15–18 October.

The line-up will include the Plus, Expert CVT, Profi CVT, Impuls CVT and Cervus CVT, equipped with Stage V engines ranging from 3.6 to 8.7 litres. Three tractors will also demonstrate practical forestry tasks in the exhibition’s Action Area.

Among the highlights will be a Cervus CVT configured to demonstrate its potential for demanding forestry operations, including wood chipping. A forestry cab demonstrator will illustrate the potential of a reverse-drive system for such applications. An Impuls CVT will also feature, highlighting the range’s suitability for different forestry requirements.

A municipal-specification tractor equipped with an AI-assisted camera system from MekraLang will demonstrate technology designed to improve operator awareness. The system detects vehicles and pedestrians around the tractor and highlights them on the operator’s screen.

Steyr will exhibit at stand FS.1109/1, where it will also present its work with the German Forest Owners Association (AGDW) on the Wald Klima-Klasse initiative, which promotes climate education and sustainable forest management.

The initiative, developed with AGDW and powertrain manufacturer FPT, follows tree-planting activities in 2025 involving 75 students from three German schools, who planted 1,800 trees. Its next phase will focus on longer-term implementation and wider adoption across Germany.

Students from FOS Lindau and Realschule Lindenberg, both of which have taken part in the project’s planting activities, will visit the exhibition to learn more about forestry technology and sustainable forest management.

The programme reflects the increasing emphasis on linking machinery development with wider forestry priorities, including climate resilience, biodiversity and skills development.

Jona Hormann, Steyr Key Account Manager for Municipality and Forestry, said the exhibition provided an opportunity to demonstrate how tractors could combine robustness, operator comfort, versatility and productivity for professional forestry users.
