Online seed drill metering configurator launched

New browser-based tool helps UK growers choose the correct metering cassette for seed, fertiliser and other materials before heading to the field.

AMAZONE has introduced a free online configurator designed to help operators of its pneumatic seed drills select the most suitable metering cassette for a particular job. Available through the AMAZONE website, the tool provides a recommendation in a few steps based on the material being applied, the target application rate and forward speed.

Selecting the correct cassette keeps the metering system within its optimum speed range. Running too slowly can produce uneven, intermittent delivery, while excessive speed can make it harder to maintain the required rate. Matching the cassette to the job is therefore important for accurate and consistent application.

Users enter the material type, required rate and intended forward speed, and the configurator guides them through the selection process. The system covers fine and conventional seed, fertiliser, micro-granules and slug pellets.

Once the operating details have been entered, the tool identifies the appropriate metering cassette. The recommendation can be exported as a PDF, allowing it to be saved, shared with colleagues or kept with the drilling plan.

Because the configurator runs in a web browser, it can be used on a smartphone, tablet or computer. That should allow farm managers and operators to check different working scenarios in the office, workshop or field before drilling starts.

Key benefits for operators:

  • Keeps the metering cassette within the appropriate speed range
  • Supports consistent and accurate metering
  • Matches the cassette to material, application rate and forward speed
  • Provides a recommendation in a few straightforward steps
  • Exports the result as a PDF for saving or sharing
  • Helps operators check settings before work begins

The online configurator recommends a metering cassette using the selected material, target application rate and forward speed. Its result can be exported as a PDF.

Illustrations, content and technical data are not binding and may differ depending on the level of equipment. Country-specific road traffic regulations apply and must be complied with, meaning that special approval may be required. The permissible axle loads and total weights of the tractor should be checked. Not all the listed combination options are possible with all tractor manufacturers.
