Compact Height Feeder Bedder Introduced
Kuhn Farm Machinery has increased its Primor straw bedding and feeding range with the introduction of the Primor GII 110.1 Polydrive, aimed at users requiring a high-capacity machine in restricted height buildings.
The new model features an 11m3, 5.5m long bale bed, allowing it to carry two, 2.7m square bales, with the tailgate closed, and up to four, 2m round bales with the tailgate lowered. The compact 2.6m transport height extends to just 2.9m high during spreading, to ensure complete coverage in low slung buildings.
Rhodri Jenkins says the compact working height coupled with high carrying capacity will appeal to many farmers. “Restrictedheight sheds are still essential infrastructure for many small and medium sized livestock units, and machines that can easily move through these buildings, whilst improving carrying and output capacity, are essential to users. The new Primor offers a high area covered per load in low buildings.”
The new model features Kuhn’s Polydrive hydraulically controlled feed rotor system, providing the mechanical power of the transmission and the flexibility of hydraulic operation. The large-diameter feed rotor prevents long fibres wrapping around it, while a hydraulic tine bank adjusts feed rotor power depending on the fodder.
A two-speed gearbox powers the turbine rotation speed (310-620rpm) and a patented unroll system, with hydraulic clamps inside the body, secures waiting round bales during straw-blowing. To improve longevity, K-NOX treatment has been applied tothe bottom of the turbine to offer superior resistance to silage acids and abrasion. Kuhn has also added new tailgate kinematics to improve bale loading.
The model joins Kuhn’s Primor straw blower and feeder range that includes mounted, semi-mounted and trailed models, from single bale 2m3 capacity on the mounted Primor 2060 M, up to the trailed Primor 15070 M 15m3 model.
