Loader transition for uk market

  • Four years after Alo was acquired by the German-listed company JOST Werke SE, the transition takes another step forward

Alo UK and its renowned Quicke brand are now aligned under the new business area JOST Agriculture & Construction, with operations rebranded as JOST GB Ltd.

“This is a great step forward for Quicke in the UK. Our focus on delivering the highest quality product, service and support for our UK customers and end users can now be elevated to the next level,” said James Pickering – UK Sales Manager.

For decades, Alo has built its reputation as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of front loaders and implements under the Quicke brand. Since joining JOST in 2020, a global leader in safety-critical systems for commercial vehicles, Alo has continued to thrive.

“As a team we share an immense pride in being associated with the Quicke brand, its rich UK heritage and our current offering of market-leading products. The relocation of our administrative, parts and technical support operations to the JOST GB facility near Manchester, England, gives us the opportunity to improve our service levels in all respects, react faster to our customers’ requirements and ultimately strengthen our market share position” explains James Pickering, UK Sales Manager.

Founded in 1949, Alo has its roots in Umeå, Sweden, and a robust global presence through its production facilities in France, China, the USA, India, and Brazil, alongside sales offices in key markets, including the UK. With approximately 600 employees and a global market share of 30%, Alo’s acquisition aligned perfectly with JOST’s commitment to quality and innovation.

“We have invested heavily in our facilities, expanded into new markets like Brazil, and opened a state-of-the-art factory in Chennai, India,” says Joachim Dürr, CEO of JOST Werke SE. “Alo and Quicke have provided a solid foundation for our agricultural segment. Together, we will continue driving innovation and achieving new milestones.”

This next step in the integration of Alo and JOST underscores their shared mission: to deliver exceptional solutions and service to the agricultural sector, leveraging combined expertise and resources to meet the demands of a global market.
