New “FarmRobotix” programme at the DLG-Feldtage 2024

  • The DLG-Feldtage 2024 introduces FarmRobotix, a new feature focusing on robotics, digitalization, automation, and AI in crop production, set to take place from 11 to 13 June in Erwitte, Germany.
  • FarmRobotix aims to serve as an international platform for farmers, manufacturers, start-ups, and technology providers to explore the latest in practical robot technologies and AI algorithms for more precise and resource-efficient crop production.

The DLG (German Agricultural Society) is launching FarmRobotix at the event in Erwitte near Lippstadt, Germany.

FarmRobotix is an international platform for practical robot technologies, digital farming, automated processes and the most advanced AI algorithms that will make tomorrow’s crop production even more precise and resource-efficient. The platform is aimed at farmers, manufacturers, start-ups and technology providers.

During DLG Feldtage, visitors will be able to learn about innovative technologies while exchanging knowledge, and networking with experts. Daily presentations on topics relevant to FarmRobotix at the DLG-Expert Stage will take place. At the 21st Field Robot Event,  International student teams will compete with their field robots.

The FarmRobotix feature held at the DLG-Feldtage 2024 is a combination of exhibition and technical program as well as live demonstrations. In addition to daily presentations on the DLG-Expert Stage, visitors will not only be introduced to robots on special demonstration areas and but also offered practical insights into the operation of autonomous agricultural vehicles and equipment. Visitors will find FarmRobotix in the south-west of the exhibition grounds.

Technical presentations on robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take place daily from 12:00 to 12:20 and from 15:00 to 15:20 on the DLG-Expert Stage at the DLG Plaza. From experts answering legal questions about robotics in the field to discussions about practical experience, the program also covers the latest research findings and tips about what to look out for when buying a robot.

On June 11 from 12 noon to 12:20 pm, four manufacturers will present their products in short five-minute presentations under the headline “Robotics Session – Manufacturers pitch their solutions”. Interactive discussions with the audience will follow the presentations.

In the exhibition area, farmers will find automated and digital solutions as well as sensor technologies. Highlights include autonomous carrier vehicles that are suitable for both conventional soil cultivation technology and can be fitted with camera-controlled, AI and laser-based weed control technology. Other robot technologies on display include sowing and weed control in sugar beet cultivation.

Visitors can experience the robots in action on the demo areas – from stubble cultivation to mechanical weed control using camera-based artificial intelligence.

In addition, the annual International Field Robot Event (FRE) will once again be held at the DLG-Feldtage trade fair. International student teams and their robots take part in the contest that present field robots performing tasks like weed recognition and navigating curved maize rows. The aim of the competition is to test pioneering technologies in the field of robotics and precision farming and to give young scientists the opportunity to exchange ideas, form networks and further develop their ideas among international participants.

In future, FarmRobotix will also offer visitors to other national and international DLG trade fairs and events such as EuroTier and Agritechnica a forum for know-how transfer and networking. FarmRobotix thus addresses the fields of application of innovative technologies in all areas of agriculture.
