Showcasing mulching technology for healthier soils

  • Simon Richard Ltd and Müthing GmbH have announced a return to the LAMMA Show at the NEC Birmingham on 15-16th January on stand 10.110, alongside European partner Goweil GmbH

At LAMMA 2025, Simon Richard will feature a range of Müthing mulching flail mowers. The focus on sustainable soil management has never been more critical, and Müthing’s products are engineered to help reduce soil erosion, enhance organic matter retention, and improve overall soil structure. Müthing machinery is also engineered for long-term use, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.

Müthing mulchers are equipped with features that enhance their performance and make them highly effective for year-round use.

They have a patented Shark Fin Shredding Bar a unique design which promotes better flow and an even spread of material. This helps improve soil coverage and enhances the mulching process.

A patented Starinth Rear Roller Bearing with multiple adjustment options, ensures that the mower works effectively in different conditions, reducing wear and tear and enhancing durability throughout the year.

The Vario mulching technology allows for individual settings tailored to specific crop requirements, ensuring optimal performance in every scenario.

Whether dealing with oilseed rape (OSR), grain stubble, maize, cover crops, or grassland areas, Sim on Richards claim Vario mulching technology fine-tunes the mower’s performance for the best results. Adjusting the Vario shredding bar towards or away from the rotor ensures that each crop is processed correctly.

Operators can divert the biomass over (for grass) or underneath (OSR) the dual position rear roller. Over the roller allows the biomass to decompose quickly; under the roller, the OSR pods and seeds are dropped onto the soil giving good contact, then covered with the mulch and compressed with the roller which ensures better germination of volunteer plants.

By customising the mulching process for each crop type, Müthing’s equipment helps ensure that soil remains healthy and productive, fostering a more sustainable farming system.

The following models will be on display:

The MU-L Vario 280 for tractors up to 130hp is perfect for a variety of agricultural tasks. Fitted with the M DuraX hammer flail offering high resistance to wear and powerful performance, this model is ideal for mulching grass, crops, and weeds. With its excellent cutting performance, it reduces material buildup, allowing for better water infiltration and soil nutrient retention.

Designed for larger areas, the MU-M 280 Vario for tractors up to 160hp boasts standard features including twin spiral rotor to reduce fuel consumption; front and rear headstock and hydraulic side shift plus easily accessible lubrication points and automatic belt tensioning for minimal downtime.

Bringing advanced technology to professional agricultural users, the MU-Pro 280 Vario for tractors up to 250hp is engineered to work in demanding conditions and boasts a 465mm rotor and and the largest rear roller at 245mm. With a robust construction and innovative design made from high quality QSt/E carbon steel, the MU-Pro can handle large quantities of biomass due to the curved design of the hood and the large opening which promotes material flow.

For those with significant land areas to manage and tractors up to 300hp, the MU-M/F 600 Vario has a 6m operating width that can fold to 2.85m for transport. It is particularly effective in larger-scale agricultural settings and provides an even finish while optimising soil condition and organic content.

A rear roller is an option and Müthing has also developed a seeder for the MU-M/F 600 allowing customers to sow cover crops directly after combining.

“We are thrilled to reconnect with farmers, dealers, and industry professionals at LAMMA to showcase cutting-edge technology designed to improve soil health and enhance agricultural productivity,” comments Managing Director Simon Richard. “We look forward to highlighting the renowned Muthing mulching flail mowers, which play a key role in soil care, crop management, and environmental sustainability,”

Simon Richard also has a special Show Offer for visitors to LAMMA 2025. For every Müthing mower purchased during the event, the purchaser will receive a FREE set of flails.
