Smart Steering Set Up
Krone now also offers a contactless electronic forced steering system for its TX transport wagon, which can be used flexibly for any tractor and ensures high manoeuvrability.
The new steering technology replaces the previous electronic forced steering with ball-head attachment 50 and will offer farmers and contractors even more flexibility, safety and comfort in the field in future.
Precise, sensor-supported steering system
The system was presented at the Agritechnica 2023 trade fair in the context of the new RX and ZX loading and forage transport wagon with OptiGrass system. The TX series is now also benefiting from this pioneering technology. The centrepiece of the new steering system is a gyroscope installed on the first axle, which works in a similar way to a gyrocompass. Its sensor precisely recognises when the vehicle is being pulled around a curve and calculates the optimum steering lock in real time, taking the speed and direction of travel into account. The system works both when driving forwards and reversing and can be manually overridden or locked if required. As speeds increase, the system automatically reduces the maximum steering angle until the steering is locked completely at 30 km/h. This increases both the driving safety and comfort.
Extremely manoeuvrable and compatible
The advantage of the new solution is its contactless functionality: External switching flags or mechanical connecting elements are no longer required. This enables tighter steering locks and significantly increases the manoeuvrability of the vehicle. The steering only requires a load-sensing connection to the tractor.
KRONE provides the new steering system for the TX transport wagon with triple chassis, as well as tandem chassis models. In addition, all of the wagons equipped with the contactless electronic forced steering system are also fitted with a weighing device.
