Tractor range refreshed
John Deere has unveiled a comprehensive update to its popular 6M tractor series for Model Year 2027, introducing a new intelligent e19™ powershift transmission, revised cab layout and expanded precision farming capabilities.
The latest developments are designed to bring greater consistency across the manufacturer’s tractor portfolio, aligning the 6M operating environment more closely with larger 6R, 7R and 8R models.
A key highlight is the introduction of the e19™ transmission, available on most six-cylinder models up to the 6M 250. Featuring 19 fully powershifted gears, the transmission combines proven PowrQuad™ technology with a dual-clutch design and advanced control systems to deliver smooth gear changes without torque interruption.
John Deere says the transmission can improve productivity by up to 5% while reducing fuel consumption by a similar margin compared with the existing CommandQuad™ Plus system. Automatic gear and engine management continuously optimise performance according to operating conditions, while functions such as Skip Shift and Scroll Shift improve responsiveness during transport and fieldwork.
The MY27 update also introduces a revised cab concept. Operators can choose from a range of control configurations, including the Compact CommandARM™ and new CommandX™ Plus joystick, with operating logic standardised across higher-horsepower John Deere tractors.
The optional G5 CommandCenter™ display provides access to machine settings and precision farming applications, while remote display control allows dealers and farm managers to assist operators from a distance.
Connectivity remains central to the 6M package through JDLink™ and Operations Center™ integration, enabling wireless transfer of work plans, machine data and field information.
The updated range continues to comprise 17 models, with the 6M 125, 6M 145 and flagship 6M 220 highlighted as key configurations for loader work, mixed farming and high-output draft applications.
