Trailed mower range updates
Pöttinger has expanded and updated its Novacat T trailed disc mower range, adding a four-metre working width and introducing in-cab hydraulic cutting-height adjustment.
The Novacat T series is designed for flexible operation, with mower units carried on their own chassis to reduce tractor requirements while maintaining ground following and forage quality.
Depending on the model, the mowers can be specified with ED tine conditioners or RC roller conditioners. Adjustable swath doors allow operators to spread the crop across the full width or form a swath to suit harvesting conditions.
Power is transmitted from the cutter bar gearbox to the conditioner through V-belts with a spring-loaded belt tensioner. The latest Novacat T models can also be fitted with Pöttinger’s newest roller conditioner system, which uses a swivel gearbox to drive both rollers synchronously for high throughput.
The 3.5m and 4m versions are also available without a conditioner. Standard mounting is through a yoke attached to the tractor’s lower linkage, while an optional tractor pick-up hitch attachment has been developed with North American requirements in mind.
Pöttinger says the cutter bar’s fully movable suspension allows it to follow ground contours in three dimensions, helping it float over uneven ground for clean mowing. A new centre indicator has also been added to improve road-transport safety.
The company says the updated Novacat T range is intended for a wide range of mowing applications, combining low tractor power demands with a robust trailed design.
