Combines get upgrades for 2027 

Fendt has announced a range of updates to its IDEAL combine harvester line-up for the 2027 model year, with changes focused on cleaning performance, separation capacity, durability and operating costs. 

The updates follow the introduction of the CyclonePlus cleaning system for MY26. Fendt says the system has performed well during the 2026 harvest, with its redesigned pre-sieve providing 1.0m² of concave area, sieves 8% wider than previously and a revised airflow system. 

The manufacturer claims these changes increase cleaning capacity by approximately 25%. Fendt has also reduced the number of IDEAL balance-cleaning configurations from five to one, with crop conversion between grain and maize requiring only a sieve change. 

An optional slope-performance kit is available to improve crop distribution across the top sieve when harvesting on side slopes. 

Separation performance has also been increased on the IDEAL 8 and IDEAL 9. Blanking plates in the Helix processor have been replaced by finger separation grates, increasing the total separation area by 27% on the IDEAL 8 and 12% on the IDEAL 9. All four IDEAL models now share the same rotor configuration. 

Fendt is also introducing a Hi-Wear package across the IDEAL range. Hardox wear plates replace stainless-steel components in the feed area, while the front wear plate and bolt guard are also manufactured from Hardox. The changes are intended to extend component life and reduce running costs. 

An extended Hi-Wear specification adds a stainless-steel crop-elevator base plate and hard-chromed augers throughout the combine. Fendt recommends this option particularly for operators harvesting large areas of maize and soya beans. 

The mounting arrangement for wear plates on the front rotor scrapers has also been revised. Self-locking nylon nuts and 10.9-strength bolts provide a more secure fixing under demanding conditions, without the need for additional welding. 

For operators harvesting maize, a new straw and chaff spreader kit uses two hydraulically driven centrifugal discs with adjustable spreading width. The system can replace the straw chopper and spreader and is designed to reduce wear. 

The MY27 specification also includes a redesigned standard radiator for the MotionShift transmission, improving oil cooling during long road journeys and operation on steep gradients. 

Ed Dennett says the changes respond to customer priorities around grain quality, reduced adjustment time and lower whole-life operating costs. 

Fendt says the combination of the CyclonePlus cleaning system and MY27 durability improvements makes the IDEAL range better suited to demanding UK and Irish harvesting conditions.
