Netherlands 500ha Arable Farm Commissions Agbot

The tracked, diesel‑electric autonomous power unit has been delivered and commissioned by LMB Rovadi, with AgXeed highlighting compatibility with standard implements and a multi-layer safety package.

Landgoed de Princepeel has taken delivery of the first AgXeed AgBot T2 7‑Series, with the autonomous tracked unit commissioned at the end of March and expected to carry out a broad range of arable tasks across more than 500 hectares.

Delivery and commissioning were handled by LMB Rovadi (Ysselsteyn). The estate says it is looking to improve machinery utilisation and scheduling during peak periods, while also addressing labour availability and soil protection.

AgXeed positions the AgBot T2 as a dedicated arable power platform rather than a general-purpose tractor. The manufacturer says it is intended to run tasks on pre-planned routes created in its TraXwise planning system, while working with standard implements through linkage, hydraulics and optional PTO.

Key figures released by AgXeed include a 230hp (170kW) diesel‑electric powertrain driven by a Deutz 5.2‑litre Stage V engine and generator, maximum torque of about ±950Nm and a top speed of around 13.5km/h.

Hydraulic output is listed at up to 170l/min at 210 bar, with an optional mechanical front and rear PTO (1000rpm). Track width is adjustable (1.5–3.2m) and the company claims ground pressure below 30kPa.

AgXeed says the AgBot uses multiple safety systems, including sensors such as cameras and lidar, alongside geofencing and remote monitoring.

For contractors and larger arable businesses, the commissioning will be watched closely as another indicator of how autonomous power units could be integrated into existing implement fleets—potentially extending working hours without tying up an operator in the cab.
