Tractors upgraded with major transport, comfort and service enhancements

John Deere has unveiled its model year 2027 (MY27) 6R Large and Xtra Large Frame tractor range, introducing a series of upgrades aimed at improving transport performance, operator comfort and machine uptime.

The updated line-up comprises six models, including the 6R 180, 6R 200, 6R 220, 6R 240, 6R 230 and flagship 6R 260, delivering up to 305hp with Intelligent Power Management (IPM).

A key focus of the update is road transport behaviour. John Deere’s new Sport Package Pro combines steering, braking and suspension enhancements designed to improve ride quality and stability during transport operations. At the centre of the package is the latest TLS Pro front axle suspension, which automatically adapts damping characteristics according to speed, load and field conditions.

The tractors also feature an updated hydraulic cab suspension system designed to reduce vibration and noise, while a redesigned steering column and new leather steering wheel aim to improve driving ergonomics. A displacement-based braking system provides smoother deceleration and more car-like operation.

Operator comfort has been further enhanced through the introduction of the new CommandView 4 cab. John Deere says a revised cab layout offers greater legroom and improved visibility, with redesigned cab pillars and rear glazing increasing rear implement visibility by up to 20%.

Noise levels have been reduced to 66 dB(A), while new features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless phone charging, additional USB-C ports and an upgraded climate control system.

Serviceability has also been a major development priority. Daily checks can be carried out from ground level, while engine service intervals extend to 750 hours and transmission and hydraulic intervals reach 1,500 hours. Predictive maintenance tools supported by more than 2,000 remote diagnostic data points enable dealers to identify potential issues before failures occur.

At the top of the range, the 6R 260 introduces John Deere’s new e19 full powershift transmission and delivers up to 305hp with IPM, targeting large-scale arable farms and contracting businesses requiring high-performance transport and draft capability.
